Islamic Civilization in Brunei Darussalam emerged align with the emergence of Islam which brought along with it the knowledge base on the al-Quran and had change the peoples way of life and how the state is governed. However, between the late 18th and 19th century, the establishment of western power in Brunei Darussalam has changed the pattern of government. The Brunei Constitutions of 1959 is of the wisdom of Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien III to restore the position of the State of Brunei Darussalan as an independent state. This research aims to study the role of the Brunei Constitutions of 1959 in sustaining Islamic civilization. This qualitative research uses the method of library research and content analysis from primary and secondary resources to fulfill research objectives. The results of the study found that The Brunei Constitutions of 1959 indeed has an important role in sustaining the Islamic civilization. Through this Constitutions, Islam has been made the official religion of the state. Syura as one of the most crucial principles in Islamic governance is practiced through the establishments of Councils. The Constitutions has given an exceptional effect and impact on Islamic civilization by placing Islam as the backbone of the state, lift the states philosophy of the Malay Islamic Monarchy and then trigger the aspiration of His Majesty Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan to make the states as a state that is always in the remembrance of Allah or Negara Zikir.

Zakat management is managed under the Department of the Islamic Religious Council (JMUI) under the administrative structure of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (KHEU) which is under the Zakat Collection and Distribution Division (BAKAZ) which has been appointed and entrusted by JMUI to be responsible for managing all matters related to collection and distribution of zakat. Zakat managers are very important factor in zakat institutions because they are the one who will determine the effectiveness of national zakat collection and distribution. Zakat management cannot be implemented on a flat rate basis, they need to get out of traditional management and implement it professionally because the distribution of property is a way to eliminate poverty in addition to developing economic growth. Therefore, the main purpose of this study is to find out the implementation of the zakat management process as well as the distribution process of zakat property to recipients in Brunei Darussalam. As the authority in collecting all zakat, fitrah and its distribution is under the authority of Brunei Islamic Religious Council. This research is also to find out the impact of zakat management implemented on the country’s socioeconomics according to the views of BAKAZ officials, some academics in the field of zakat and also from the producers of zakat property. The results of interviews with respondents have found that zakat management in Brunei Darussalam has greatly helped the asnaf groups in meeting their needs in terms of finance, education, medicine, skill training and so on.

This study was conducted to examine the Child Protection Management in Brunei Darussalam's Welfare Home Complex, which is the only Welfare Home Complex in Brunei Darussalam. This study is a qualitative study in the form of a case study. The study sample consisted of four (4) officers and staff who served at the Welfare Home Complex, two (2) victims of abuse placed at the Welfare Home Complex and two (2) civil servants who were in charge of handling cases of abuse; consisting of an Assistant Community Development Officer of the Children, Women and Family Unit (KWK) of the Community Development Department and a Police member of the Women and Child Abuse Crime Investigation Unit (USJPWDKK) brought a total of eight (8) research participants. The instruments used in this study are structured and semistructured interviews as the main research data supported by document analysis. The findings obtained by the researcher found that all forms of abuse, namely physical, sexual, emotional abuse and neglect have occurred in Brunei Darussalam. The establishment of Taman Noor Hidayah, Kg Subok is an initiative and responsibility of the government to preserve the rights of children and ensure their welfare is always maintained. Taman Noor Hidayah, Kg Subok is a temporary settlement for children who are victims of abuse and neglect who need protection. The development of abused and neglected children is always taken into account in an effort to produce citizens with good and balanced personalities, which are monitored in terms of Spiritual, Emotional, Physical and Intellectual through programs planned by the responsible parties. This can be achieved through collaboration involving relevant stakeholders.

His Majesty the Sultan and the Yang Di-Pertuan have proposed to prepare a curriculum with the concept of lifelong learning. His Majesty's proposal is to encourage the people of Brunei to study for all ages. Moreover, His Majesty also summoned to monitor the Islamic studies curriculum in order to achieve a holistic education. Thus, this study focuses on Lifelong Learning specifically for muslimahs in Islamic education in mosques, balai and private homes. All these places play a major role in Islamic education. The main objective of this study is to discover the development of Islamic Lifelong Learning for muslimahs in Brunei Darussalam which has been practiced for a long time, focusing on Islamic learning in mosque institutions. This study describes the development of muslimahs in Islamic Lifelong Learning in terms of infrastructure, administration, management and curriculum. This study used qualitative approach with document analysis and semi-structured interview. Thus, this study found that the Brunei Government has established religious classes in mosques specifically for muslimahs named as Kelas Bimbingan Muslimah in 2007. This class has been developed encouragingly where it dies not only limited to mosque based learning however, the muslimahs are very proactive too in conducting activities physically and religiously.
