References for the outcomes of this writing are limited to books related to the writings by the State Mufti of Brunei Darussalam, throughout the outbreak of Covid-19 from the year 2019M until the year 2021M. This thesis includes the fatwas issued by the State Mufti of Brunei Darussalam as well as the contents extracted from books of Fiqh that include the opinions of scholars that have been studied before as well as from the outcomes of previous thesis writings that have been written by university graduates. The content of this thesis is limited to the issues related to religious jurisprudence which the community of Brunei Darussalam demands the answers and rulings for the arised issues caused by the pandemic. At the same time, this thesis shows the statistics and phases of the covid-19 outbreak from 2019M to 2021M as well as the instructions and protocols issued by the Ministry of Health Brunei Darussalam. The writer hopes that the results of this writing can benefit university students and the community of Brunei Darussalam as a whole by making this topic a reference to get answers, laws and arguments about worship issues that arise during the outbreak Covid-19. The author will also explain the issues related to it and the differences of opinions and opinions of famous scholars regarding it. As for the important goals and objectives of the author in writing this scientific paper, it is to provide education to Muslims in general, and the people of Brunei in particular, and also to study the law of zina in Islam and the laws of Brunei Darussalam and facilitate researchers to study it. To achieve these goals and objectives, the author will refer to Islamic Fiqh books, and also through reading from libraries and the internet. This study contains three chapters, where chapter one explains the concept of hudud, types of hudud, and the wisdom of punishment. Chapter two explains the meaning of zina, the wisdom of its prohibition, and the punishment for the perpetrator of zina. Chapter three explains the meaning of Islamic Fiqh and Brunei law, acts that are not considered zina, and the circumstances that make someone unable to be punished for the punishment of zina. As we know, Li'an is considered as one of the sensitive and private issue among the community, however, Li'an is still important that should be taken seriously. The researcher conducted this study by referring to past and contemporary fiqh books related to the subject of Fiqh Munakahat in Li’an and any books that related to the topic of the study. The researcher also uses survey methods via Google Form and interviews with the general public, legal practitioners, legislators and students to obtain a more accurate understanding of the people of Brunei Darussalam regarding Li’an. The results of this study also show that although the issue of Li'an in Islam is infrequent, but it is still existing in Brunei Darussalam. For those who intentionally abandon it or have valid reasons, there are certain laws that need to be followed, including qada, kaffarah, and fidyah. Hence, the question arises: To what extent are the laws of fidyah according to the Shafi'i school of thought applied among the community in the Brunei-Muara district? Therefore, the objective of this research is to determine the extent of the application of the laws of fidyah according to the Shafi'i school of thought among the community in the Brunei-Muara district. To achieve this objective, the researcher employs two approaches: Firstly, the descriptive approach, where the researcher gathers information from direct and indirect sources and references related to this topic. Questionnaires are also distributed to the community in the Brunei-Muara district. Secondly, the analytical approach, where the researcher analyzes the information obtained from the questionnaires to gain an understanding of the community in the Brunei-Muara district regarding the application of the laws of fidyah according to the Shafi'i school of thought. One of the main findings of this study is that some respondents do not understand the laws of fidyah, particularly those related to pregnant women and nursing mothers.
