<summary type="text">CUSTOMER'S PREFERENCE BETWEEN TAKAFUL COMPANIES: CASE STUDY IN BRUNEI-MUARA DISTRICT
The objective of this study is to examine the customer preference and understanding between takaful companies, namely, Insurans Islam TAIB Sdn Bhd and Syarikat Takaful companies should know the need of their customers and thus to protect the companies from losing their potential customers. It is also attempts to identify and evaluate factors that have a high influence customer preference in selecting above takaful companies. To accomplish these objectives, this study acquired information through quantitative study by distributing questionnaires equally to the customers between both takaful companies. The study is limited to takaful companies in Brunei-Muara district only. A survey of 74 respondents were taken and analyzed to understand the factors that influence the takaful companies' selection decisions. The study relied on 21 factors using mean and factor analysis and these factors were extracted from the previous literature and personal interview. The findings from the study revealed that the top three most important factors that influence customer preference for selecting between above companies are providing wide range of products and services, reputation of the companies and confidentiality of customer information. It is hoped that this study could provide information to the takaful companies in Brunei regarding the significant factors of customer preference in order both companies improve in their marketing strategies.

<summary type="text">ALMSGIVING TO AL-GHARIMIN: BRUNEI DARUSSALAM CASE STUDY
This study aims to find out the zakah management practice for al-Gharimin from the perspective of madhhab al-Shafií and its implementation in Brunei Darusslam. It adopts qualitative research which particularly concentrates on the Islamic Religious Council of Brunei Darussalam (MUIB) in determining al-Gharimin in Brunei Darussalam, followed by its operational procedure practice and the progress of the zakah of al-Gharimin processes before and after the Brunei Islamic Religious Council Conference 2009 for the purpose to identify any drawbacks that are limiting it to practice effectively and efficiently. It is found that the practice is in line with madhhab al-Shafií. Even so, the zakah management practice for al-Gharimin still need a room for improvement in their management of their human resource and the usage of the system itself. It subsequently  shows the arising issues on unexpected high numbers of cases received with a high amount of dept incurred. Findings from this study are expected to guide the zakah institutions itself to surpass any issues arising on their management practice and the indebted problems of al-Gharimin itself as to achieve efficiency in the distribution in the future.

Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) used Bay' Bithaman Ájil since 1993. The used of BBA, at that time, are to provide financing in which Shari'ah compliance to the Muslim in Brunei Darussalam as well as to fulfil the necessities of the society through personal satisfaction and social tranquility and security. In April 2013, BIBD had taken a step forward in replacing most of their Consumer Financing of Bay' Bithaman Ájil (BBA)products to Tawarruq. Hence, the aims of the study are to identify the reasons on the replacement of the financing products along with identifying the issues arise and determine the solutions taken by BIBD to mitigate the issues. To reach objectives of the study, researcher used qualitative method via descriptive and survey approach. Descriptive approach help researcher to identify nowadays issues in which related to the&#13;
research field through primary and secondary data from books, journal and internet. In term of survey approach, researcher obtained data through interview session. In this study, the researcher found that the main issue in the applications of Organized Tawarruq is the violations of Shari'ah principles done by some of the banks. Hence, by following guidelines provided by AAOIFI, the violations of Shari'ah principles would not happen. Hence, BIBD should continuously revise their application of Tawarruq in order to in line with the guidelines provided by AAOIF.

<summary type="text">DEVELOPMENT, ISSUES AND CHALLENGES OF ONLINE ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN BRUNEI DARUSSALAM
Online entrepreneurship has increased significantly in Brunei Darussalam. However, there is a lack of previous studies in relation to this field. This study aims to identify developments made by online food entrepreneurs in Brunei Darussalam, their issues as well as challenges in starting, running and developing the business. This study specifically focuses on online food entrepreneurs who sell desserts using the social media named Instagram. This study will also investigate matters regarding the entrepreneurial support received by these entrepreneurs. The findings of this study were acquired through exploratory and mixed research (qualitative and quantitative research by means of distributing questionnaires). From the study, it is found that these entrepreneurs are faced with issues and challenges, which includes financial problems, too many competitors and more. Despite that, these entrepreneurs are still able to make some developments such as more product and service offerings and engaged themselves in bake sale events other than selling their products through online. In addition, based on the findings of the study, these entrepreneurs did receive supports from doing business, which mostly came from their families and friends. The study is therefore, vital as it will contribute to the body of knowledge and it will open the eyes of the respective government and private institutions to assist these entrepreneurs in overcoming any issues and challenges and further support their business growth.
